Our client is a pharmaceutical company belonging to a multinational group with French roots. Due to the arrival of a new company executive, the organization is undergoing a cultural transformation aimed at bringing a full engagement and modern approach to the teams. In view of ambitious plans, we are looking for an energetic, motivated person for the position of:
Chief Accountant
(Warsaw / hybrid)
Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank and payroll reconciliations, execution of outgoing payments and monthly and yearly financial closings;
- Guide and support the accounting team of 2-3 Accountants, promoting a collaborative, flexible, and high-performance environment that embraces change;
- Liaise with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information, supporting cross-functional projects and initiatives;
- Identify and recommend process and procedures improvements, automation opportunities, and system upgrades that support financial transformation;
- Guide the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of accounting software and systems, aligning with Biocodex’s digital transformation and efficiency goals;
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards as well as company policies and regulations;
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements;
- Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion;
- Develop and implement internal accounting controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data;
- Monitor and ensure compliance with tax regulations, preparing and submitting tax returns as required as well as staying updated on changes in tax regulations;
- Coordinate and manage tax audits liaising with tax authorities and providing comprehensive explanations with the support of external tax consultants.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role;
- Proven experience in managing small accounting team;
- Communicative English;
- Strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively across teams and with external service providers;
- Proactive, solution-oriented with an adaptive mindset toward change and transformation;
- Demonstrated experience in leading or contributing to process improvements, digitalization, and automation efforts;
- Strong knowledge of Polish accounting standards, practices and tax regulations;
- Proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems (SAP B1 would be a strong advantage) and Excel.
