introduction of new products, we are looking for an experienced candidate for the position of:
Credit Underwriting Lead
(Warsaw)
Responsibilities:
- Working in conjunction with the Hub and local Credit Team as well as the customer care team, you will be responsible for the rules, decisions, processes, and systems across the Underwriting strategies in the Group to optimize a trade-off between customer conversion, customer experience, costs related to underwriting and customer quality;
- You will take a test and learn approach towards the governance and development of underwriting processes and activities, being quick to tighten, relax or challenge underwriting strategy and controls where they are not in support of the business strategy to push innovation and better way of working with customers;
- Maintaining and ensuring effective reporting on strategy as well as a trade-off between underwriting process/quality/sale, being open to challenge and feedback in a data- driven organization;
- Ensuring timely delivery of high-quality underwriting approval processes related to the origination of new customers as well as existing ones so the business is well protected against fraud and credit losses;
- Preparing necessary reporting and analytics behind the area of responsibility, ready to provide recommendations in terms of changes in the processes based on the numbers as a way of optimization of processes;
- Working with Credit Team on designing, monitoring, and adjusting customer’s onboarding process to ensure conversion optimization while keeping credit quality intact;
- Caring about the business; monitoring and reviewing processes and policies to protect the organization from fraud and risk and identifying ways to further drive growth and reduce wastage
- Managing costs associated with customer assessment and credit underwriting (cost of credit /fraud checks, operational costs related to underwriters) as cost optimization directly influences the company’s profits;
- You will love to build great relationships with key partners, working with stakeholders from within the business and external to ensure you can acquire the right tools and processes to deliver the business plan;
- You will put customer experience and innovation at the heart of the business processes – have this in mind when approaching all risk management activities as managing customer experience translates to better conversions and customers loyalty;
- Pursuing the economies of scale and opportunities to reduce waste, whilst not impacting the customer experience.
Requirements:
- Qualification in process management, operational efficiency or numbers;
- The breadth of knowledge across the Credit area;
- Thorough knowledge of credit systems and processes during onboarding journeys;
- Attention to detail, noticing key trends and patterns across the risk landscape and quickly acting upon them, getting a real buzz from recommending and implementing new strategies and approaches to further support customer growth;
- Strong understanding of consumer credit;
- Ability to streamline processes keeping the balance between quality and operational efficiency;
- Knowledge of the tools available to support the management of credit risk;
- Understanding fraud patterns and tools/techniques to mitigate fraud exposure;
- Good understanding of statutory, legal and regulatory requirements;
- Understanding and demonstrable application of the principles of credit underwriting (ideally within a digital environment);
- Knowledge of the tools available to support the management of credit underwriting;
- A proven track record managing credit risk in an online lending business, specifically Underwriting;
- Worked with online credit risk policies and credit risk rules;
- Experience in identifying and building strong relationships with effective partners/suppliers in the area of credit risk and fraud (credit bureaus, etc);
- Worked with digital credit lending platforms/systems;
- Experience gained within a digital financial services environment (desirable);
- Exposure to working in an international business that works cross-culturally;
- Fluent in verbal and written business English and Polish;
- Able to travel internationally for business meetings.
